2024 WATER SAFETY PROJECT

On January 12, 2021, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) that went into effect on December 16, 2021. The City of Pateros is required to follow the LCRR, which is located in 40 CFR 141. The City is required to complete an initial inventory of service lines by October 16, 2024 and then develop a plan to replace all lead in service lines by 2034.

The city is also required to maintain a Cross Connection Program per Washington Administrative Code WAC 246-290-490 and Pateros Municipal Code PMC 13.12. 

PROJECT TIMELINE
May 2024

Send out cross connection questionnaire and lead service line survey forms to all water customers
Complete historical data review - look through building permits, as-builts, and other records for service line data
Assist water customers in completing forms

June 2024

Assist water customers in completing forms
Review records for additional connections, like those for fire sprinklers.

July 2024
Follow up with un-returned questionnaires and Surveys
Complete historical and customer data collection

August 2024
Write Lead Service Line Replacement Report
Complete Lead Service Line Report for EPA

How to submit:

  • Fill out the attached forms and return to City Hall counter or drop box
  • Scan the forms and email a copy to jwilson@pateros.us
  • Contact City Hall and request assistance. City staff can help you fill out the forms in-person or over the phone.
  • Do you know where your water comes into the house? Do you know where your water shutoff is for your house? For the lead service line inventory, staff can inspect your incoming water line and help you fill out the surveys. Call City Hall and set up an appointment.
