Winter & Snow

There are 2 snow parks within a very short driving distance from Pateros? Black Canyon and South Fork Gold Creek. Did you know that the Methow Valley has over 800 miles of snowmobile trails? Once on the trail, you can go just about anywhere!  There are also 303 km of groomed Nordic Ski trails, and 380 acres of Alpine Skiing just up the road. We have lots of winter fishing available too. Why wait until summer to enjoy this great area? And one of the best things about all of this is that there  are no crowds!

Snowmobiling and Cross Country Skiing

Pateros allows snowmobiling on city streets as long as you have a flag and drivers license.  Black Canyon (8mi.) and Gold Creek(16mi.) Sno-Parks are just a short drive from Pateros. Both  Sno-parks give you access to literally hundreds of miles of trails. If that's not enough, there's many more parks and trail systems that can be reached easily in less than an hour from Pateros.

The Loup Loup Ski Area is only a short distance from town, with lots of down hill skiing and very short lines! After a full day of fun in the sun, remember to come and relax while enjoying one of our family friendly businesses in town. After all, the Weather Channel has named the Methow Valley one of the "Best Winter Family Vacations" around.

Pateros is also the central location of the Tri-River Snowmobile Club, one of the most active clubs in Washington.
